There is no catch. Shepherd's Shield Safety Foundation is a nonprofit organization funded entirely by charitable donations. Our mission is to provide professional-grade security guidance to congregations regardless of their financial resources. There is no sales pitch, no upsell, and no cost of any kind to your congregation.
A typical on-site HOW Security Assessment takes 2 to 4 hours depending on the size of your facility. The assessor will walk the entire property, observe a service or ministry activity if possible, and meet with key leadership. The written report is delivered within 2 weeks of the visit.
Yes. While we are headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, our mission is nationwide. As our assessor network grows through the SSSF Assessor Certification Program, we will be able to serve houses of worship across the United States. Contact us and we will do our best to connect you with a certified assessor in your region.
This is one of the most common situations we encounter, and we handle it with care. Our approach frames house of worship security as a ministry responsibility — a stewardship of the people in our care. We help leaders understand that preparedness is not fear-driven; it is love-driven. We have never had a pastor regret the conversation.
Excellent. Our services complement and strengthen existing teams. Many of our best engagements are with congregations that already have security volunteers in place — we help them train more effectively, document their procedures, and identify gaps they may not have seen. Having a team is a starting point, not a reason not to engage with us.
